I pick you up at midnight like most nights the same
Can’t wait to see you been waiting all day
We head home, on the way I’m just staring at your face
Knowing I made dinner, can’t wait for you to taste

There’s a bottle of liquor but no mixer to go along
I head out to the market shouldn’t take too long
Pickin’ up a couple a’ sodas and then I’m back out on the road
That’s when I saw the lighting and the thunder shook me cold

The storm is coming and it’s bound to rain like hell
There’s a black cloud in the sky, threatening danger everywhere
My baby’s all alone, I gotta make it home,
So we can take shelter from the storm

I make it back, and all goes black, alarms are ablaze
The sirens stared screaming there’s a twister on the way
I go outside to see how much time, take a look up at the sky
That funnel cloud could put us down like the devil in disguise
